What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is simply the study of human movement and therefore, a kinesiologist is considered a movement specialist. The science of kinesiology applies principles from biomechanics, physiology, anatomy, psychology and neuroscience to support clients with movement-based interventions. Kinesiology recognizes that therapeutic movement strategies can have a profoundly positive effect on optimizing human movement. This may include strengthening tissues (tendons, ligaments, muscles), preventing injuries, improving physical function, balance, coordination and motor control. Kinesiology uses an evidence-based foundation to guide programming and movement strategies.

What to Expect When Working With a Kinesiologist?

When working with me, you can expect a comprehensive movement assessment to identify your individual needs, goals, and physical limitations. From there, I will design a safe, personalized, guided exercise program, provide education, and progressively adapt your program as your strength and function improve.
